Hajer Furat is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) at CMAP Health. She focuses on supporting adults who may be experiencing challenges such as anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, academic or school-related stress, life transitions, discrimination, procrastination, pregnancy and postpartum adjustments, as well as family- or women-related concerns.
Hajer is dedicated to helping individuals improve their overall well-being through compassionate, evidence-based care. She works collaboratively with clients in a supportive, non-judgmental, and goal-oriented environment, helping them build insight, develop practical coping strategies, and work toward meaningful change.
She holds a Master of Education with a concentration in Counselling Psychology from the University of Ottawa and completed a double honours major with high distinction in Law and Psychology, with a minor in Neuroscience and Mental Health, from Carleton University.
When asked why she wanted to work with us at CMAP Health and what clients could expect from her, Hajer shared:
“I am driven by my fascination with the brain and how behaviours develop. I apply evidence-based methods from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to work with each client through an individualized approach, helping them move toward their goals and overall well-being. I am passionate about helping individuals build insight, develop practical coping strategies, and create meaningful change in their lives.
I chose to work at CMAP Health because of Dr. Rao and his diverse multidisciplinary team. His rigorous training in CBT treatments and the team’s dedication to providing gold-standard, evidence-based services give me confidence in my ability to support individuals who present with a wide range of concerns.”
