Ashley Gammie
Psychotherapy Practicum Intern
Ashley Gammie is a psychotherapy student intern providing individual mental health counselling under supervision as she completes her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Ashley brings over 10 years of experience as a Social Worker, which forms the foundation of her significant client-centered background. This extensive history, combined with previous roles as an Employment Counsellor, Constituency Caseworker, Youth Worker, and Outreach Project Coordinator, has equipped her with robust skills in active listening, rapport-building, in-depth needs assessment, and the ability to navigate complex systems to connect clients with essential financial, training, and emotional support.

Her Social Work experience, in particular, has cemented her ability to work with diverse populations, handle complex cases, and advocate for clients within systemic challenges.

Her approach to therapy is highly collaborative, drawing her interest from modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with a strong belief in fostering connection, not only between clients and their inner selves but also with others and the natural world to enhance their overall change and resiliency. Clients working with Ashley can expect a warm, non-judgmental, and compassionate environment where their goals are prioritized through a supportive, client-centered lens, reflecting her sincere passion for helping others.
